January update

Wow! It's been quite a while since the last post....let's see, what's there to update? Well, we got our January wait list number on the very last day of the month. And while I was really hoping that we could at last say goodbye to the 60's it did not happen. We are number

 

on the girl list!

So, we moved three spots (we were 63 in December)...and some movement is better than none! Here's to hoping that for February we will at long last be in the 50's!

November update

There's not much to update for the month of November....we didn't move any places on the wait list so we are still number 66. Hopefully by this time next year we'll have another little girl in our family!!

Update

We waited and waited the whole month of October until the very end and at last we got our update! We are number 66 on the girl list.

It's official!

We received our updated FDL from immigration!!! YEA!!!!!
We sent it off yesterday to our agency and by tomorrow we will have officially changed our age range to 0-4 yrs! We're so excited!
Audrey's been having so many questions about her baby sister lately...will her birthday be in fall like mine? Will she be a baby? Will she know how to speak English? I can't wait until we finally have some answers for her. But for now, all we have in front of us is more.....waiting :)

Slowly

I know, it's been forever since we last posted! Not much has been happening around here. We do have a new wait list number which we're excited about: 71!
We've been approved by DCFS for our change in age range....which we're also excited about! Now we're just waiting for an updated FDL from immigration and then everything is official.
Hopefully we'll have some real exciting news soon!!!

Long Time Comin'

Here we are again, over a month since the last update. At this point in our adoption there's really not that much to update! We have our new number for August: number 77 on the girl list! We're slowly moving down :)
We began the process of changing our age range from 0-2 to 0-4yrs. When we first started the adoption process we felt that we wanted an age range of 2-4yrs. We knew our next child would have to be younger than Audrey (at the time she was 3) but we also knew that it would take a while. Well, turned out our social worker wasn't too fond of that age range and changed it to 0-2yrs to ensure that our adopted daughter would for sure be younger than Audrey. Now, with Audrey's 5th birthday right around the corner we spoke with our new social worker about the possibility broadening our parameters. She approved it and hopefully by the end of November everything will have gone through (we have to get background checks re-done, DCFS has to approve it again) and we will officially have 0-4yrs as our age range!
So, that's our update! Keep praying everything moves along in Ethiopia!
